Give me ear plugs!

Got woken up by drills this morning at approx. 8.20. Again. Tried to sleep my way through 3 hours of the madness. Seriously, they kept at it for 3 hours with nothing but what I take for granted was a five minute coffee break. Can someone tell me why building a kitchen (they demolished it the other day) requires 3 hours of non stop drilling into a concrete wall? Please, enlighten me.
